New Social Icons

We just added a few more social icons to the feature for you to use on your Clover website. Most prominent are the 2 Google+ icons we’ve added… They are in your Greenhouse Dashboard now, so check them out!

Mary said on December 8th, 2011:

Hey Elliot! We’ve got Tumblr. Check it out!

John said on December 15th, 2011:

Beyond the major social networking sites, us liturgical churches are networked to our diocese, and national offices. I’d love to have the ability to upload a denominational icon so I can send our visitors to our diocesan site.

Mary said on December 19th, 2011:

Hey John,

We like your idea. This probably won’t be a quick addition, but we really do hope to offer this at some point down the road!

Matthew said on January 31st, 2012:

I really agree with John from December 15, to be able to include our synodical symbol as a social icon to their homepage would be EXTREMELY useful.

Sports! We need a sports icon!!

Nic said on February 10th, 2012:

Hey guys,
Any word on a facebook like button or +1 Google button yet?
Would love to have this integration. Cheers!

Mary said on February 10th, 2012:

Hey Nic,

We love this idea! We’d say that this is super likely once we’ve made the transition to HTML5 for everything, but a bit tough to pull off with Flash (and a bit different than our other social media icons).

Thanks for the suggestion!

Will you be adding a foursquare icon soon?

David said on February 24th, 2012:

Can’t Clover provide more developer control of the placement of social icons? Having multiple icons strung across the very bottom of each and every page on our site is not a great solution. These icons are pretty much useless, when buried at the bottom of the page.

Mary said on March 1st, 2012:

Hey Kayla,

Thanks for the suggestion. We may be adding more icons at some point and we will definitely keep Foursquare in mind!

Mary said on March 1st, 2012:

Hey David,

I’m sure you know this, but each design with Clover has a little different placement for the icons. Not particularly helpful for you right now, but if you should decide at some point to make a design change, that could work in your favor:)

Another thing to keep in mind is that with HTML5, there will be some changes that may very well work to your advantage in this area. Not entirely sure yet what this will look like, but we definitely will keep this idea in mind as we transition! Great suggestion.

This may be the wrong thread but is there a way to add your address and phone number to the bottom of the home page?

Mary said on March 5th, 2012:

Hey Clifton,

The best way to do this is through the Logo area on your particular design. Not possible with every design, but the newer ones have a Logo area that spans the entire width of the site. A great place for contact information that you’d like visible on every page!

Other than this, there isn’t really an option for text outside of the template area.

Will there be an icon for the new donations tool?

Mary said on March 6th, 2012:

Hey Kevin,

Great idea. There already are a couple icons created for this, but yes, you could absolutely use this to link to your Clover Donations account!

Dylan said on March 22nd, 2012:

Will there be an icon for ‘The City’ I know a lot of churches use this platform and it would be great to add a quick link to it from our website.

Mary said on March 26th, 2012:

Hey Dylan,

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, We’re working on it right now!

Mary said on March 29th, 2012:

Hey Dylan, The City icon is now available! Check it out in you Dashboard.
