Publishing Issue

I hate writing posts like this, but I wanted to let everyone know about the issue that came up today. We were finishing the very last steps of a big database upgrade that we’ve been working on for the past two weeks. The upgrade was made to ensure that all our sites continue to run as quickly as possibly, and it all went really smoothly, until this last change.

At about 12:20pm PST we made a small but crucial mistake that broke the Publish button in the Greenhouse for all our sites. Fortunately, all changes in the Greenhouse were still being saved, they just couldn’t be published to your live site.

We started working on a fix right away, but it ended up being one of theĀ first times we had an error that we couldn’t fix immediately. I’m guessing most of you don’t care about the technical details, but the gist is that we have a lot of different servers running, and we had to apply a fix on each one and wait for it to finish before continuing on.

We got things working for half our sites at about 3:20pm PST and for everyone by 4:00pm PST.

We’re very sorry if this affected you. We take downtime extremely seriously, and we’ll do our best to make sure this doesn’t happen again. For the past three years since we launched, we’ve beefed up our system six or seven times, and our goal is always to make sure everything works without a hitch.

If you have any other questions, feel free to give us a call at 805-527-8900. Sorry again!

Seriously guys, from my perspective, glitches come and go, but Clover just keeps “raising the bar”…

So that may be the reason why I had a processing issue last night.
Thank you for the update, we are very happy with Clover and with the continual updates. As Pastor Luis stated, ‘You guys are still the best!’

Could this explain while uploading a sermon yesterday around that time gave me a processing error?

You guys do great work. Keep it up. I like that you are continually changing and making Clover better. Mistakes are bound to happen, so don’t let it ruin the day.

Thanks for the heads up. I did notice an issue with uploading media at that time. I will go back and upload those messages that got messed up in the process.
Blessings.

I knew that there was a glitch because I couldn’t upload a sermon audio for our pastor. But, I also knew that the glitch would be taken care of as quickly as humanly possible! Trust is the difference! We know we can trust Clover to take care of all the issues. You make things so easy for those of us on staff! Thank you and be blessed!

Wow, thanks for the show of support. You might want to be careful giving us too much praise, or we’re going to start making mistakes on purpose.

For everyone that’s asked, yes, it could’ve affected your media uploading. If you still have any trouble with it, call or email and we’ll work on it with you.

Ken said on May 18th, 2011:

Thanks for discovering and correcting the problem so soon. Thanks for confessing the problem, though most of us likely didn’t know anything about it.

Your transparency makes it a pleasure to do business with you. I recommend you often.

I have two clover sites, I did have a problem ‘publishing’; however, it was evidently near the time the problem was resolved. Please know, I am so pleased with the service of Clover and the site is SO user friendly. My staff and my wife hear me consistently affirm your company. I am so pleased with everything about your company.

No probs here! But thanks for doing all you can to get it up. Clover’s commitment to incredible customer service, is, in my mind, one of the main reasons I love the company so much.

Apart from the beautiful, functional and downright easy-to-use websites that is…

I have never been better served!

Jay DePoy said on May 25th, 2011:

I just came from the Exponential Conference in Orlando. One of the workshops was promoted a certain company that was twice as expensive and half as beautiful as Clover.

I raised my hand and suggested Clover as a better option. The presenter actually pulled up http://www.exodusasheville.com (our site) and there was unanimous agreement with the audience that Clover offers the best product on the market. Many of the potential church planters left in disgust at how much money they had already paid for their website.

Thanks for making us look cooler than we are!

Jerry, this is one of the best blog comments on record. Happy to help you look cool, but it sounds like you’re doing just fine on your own!

Seriously, such a fun comment to read. Thanks for sending that over! God bless -
