Official Launch Date
Hey guys, I’m pulling my head out of coding for a minute to officially announce that we’re going to be launching the new Greenhouse 2.0 on April 28. If you’ve been reading the comments on the blog, you already know that, but I wanted to make sure everyone saw it.
I also wanted to say thanks to all of you who have been gracious and understanding, since we were originally planning on launching at the end of last year. And then at the beginning of this year… And I know that some of you are eagerly waiting on the new features so you can really push your web presence to the level you want. So thanks again for your patience in this development process. The truth is, in order to make this product perfect and feature-rich, it’s taken much more programming, UI development, and integration then we originally thought… Even conservatively. Instead of just making it better, we’ve decided to make it the absolute best that’s out there.
I don’t think I need to say it again, but man, I can’t wait for you to see your new Greenhouse. It’s been a long wait for some of you, but you won’t be disappointed. I’m just finishing up the new media player right now and it’s just awesome to see all our ideas (and your requests) become a reality.
If you haven’t seen the development page showing the new features, check it out. We’ll add a video showing off the new media player soon.
One last thought… I’ve seen a couple people comment on the fact that we’ve created new programs like Group Sales and Clover Gives instead of working on the Greenhouse. Rest assured, we have different teams working on those projects, so they haven’t slowed down any of the Greenhouse development. I probably didn’t need to mention it, but I guess it’s a valid question.
In summary, April 28th is d-day. And the day we get some sleep.

I’m very excited about Greenhouse 2.0! It’s going to really add to the dynamic of our site and give it even more of a professional feel.

Thanks for the update. I thought that you had said late last year you were going to release GH 2.0 in chunks. But, maybe I just dreamt that. I’ve been looking forward to a couple of the features for what seems like a very long time now and been telling our church they were coming soon. I hope you’re able to hit the April 28th date.

I’m glad to see that I’m not the only person who crazy loves Clover. You guys are great. If people complain, it’s only because they don’t know how much hard work is going on behind the scenes. I don’t know either, but i assume it’s a lot. Can’t wait to see your latest creation!!!
I’m super pumped for the update! Will the new Greenhouse tell us the dimensions in pixels for photo place-holders? It may be easier to design new graphics for those spots??

Wow, thanks for all the comments. It’s so encouraging to have a big group of people love what we do.
@Brian – you didn’t dream it… we’re still going to release it in parts. On April 28th, we’ll release all the new features with the exception of staff pages, form pages and photo albums. Those features will then probably come out one at a time. We didn’t want to have to do this, but we realized that each of our major new features (media player, calendar, podcasting, forms, photo albums) is a really an entire product/service in itself. If you think about it, there are standalone companies whose entire livelihood is made by providing one of each of those! So long story short, we need more time to put enough work into each of them to make them great.
@Nate – the pixel dimensions thing is something we want to do… but it will probably be something we add on later. We had no idea how many people were going to request that.

@Ben – Ok, I’ve gotten by with using “PixelStick.” It lays over my screen and I can measure things out in pixels. I use Mac. This might be something you can pass on for now… again, thanks, and I can’t wait!
@Nate – Great suggestions and solutions! Also, don’t hesitate to call in and ask us for the image dimensions for your design. We’re more than happy to email them to you right away!
Seriously you guys have the easiest and best stuff going around and then there is the price which is so, so good for a church ministry that wants excellence and relevance without costing the people focussed budget. THANK YOU!
Ben – We are SO excited about these updates to Clover! To be honest with you, some of these same issues have provoked serious discussion about moving away from Clover and simply paying somebody to build something to avoid some of these limitations. We didn’t want to do it – and now we don’t have to!
I’m thrilled that you’ll be addressing almost all of our concerns – and then some – with these updates! Best of luck on getting everything pulled together asap. We can’t wait!

I can see Ben now……. 3 Red Bulls every 4 hours, moved his office next to the restroom, brought in a cot and pillow, has his phone on DND, hasn’t shaved in weeks, and is developing Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. But hey, at least he still brushes his teeth!!
