Speaking of Clover.

iQ: The Making Of…

Apparently car companies have gotten in on typography stuff and they are using their cars to help in the production process (with a little help from two typographers and one interactive artist). Pierre & Damien from pleaseletmedesign.com and Zachary Lieberman are the three dudes who collaborated with Toyota to make this impressive font. The video will tell you the rest of the story. Enjoy.

awesome video… anyone has any idea what is that software they used to create the font? The app visibl beginning 2:10 to 2:23?

Wes said on November 6th, 2009:

@Alan The software that you see during that segment is either FontLab or Fontographer.

are there any more places where you can find free fonts like this?

Wes said on November 11th, 2009:

@pjg Yeah! I would suggest checking out this guy’s collection of free fonts at josbuivenga.nl and you can try fontsquirrel.com

These are legit fonts. 99% of free fonts aren’t worth looking at, but these are the cream of the crop.

Thanks Wes!

Wes… another question about fonts. Which font is it that Clover uses? Or is that like a top secret – you’ll have to kill me if you tell me – kinda thing?

I love your promotional emails… they look so polish and nice and the font compliments everything really nice.

@pjg The font that we use for the headers and such is called Whitney and it is from HF&J. You can find it at typography.com
