Sermon Downloads… and other updates
Finally, a long awaited feature is ready. Starting this weekend the visitors on your site will be able to download your sermons. You don’t need to change anything to enable this – it will happen automatically for any sermons you post (as well as the ones in the past).
We’ve also made a bunch of other updates here and there… many of them are minor tweaks to help keep things running smoothly, so you may not notice them. But here are a few highlights:
Images now get smoothed when they’re resized. Before, if you started with a large version of your logo and sized it down to fit on your site, it might have looked a little jagged. Now when you click the “Finished” button, the greenhouse does some fancy “resampling” to make sure it stays high-quality.
Logos are now saved with transparency (on the sites that don’t have white backgrounds). Now if you need to move your logo, or if you change the color of your background, you won’t have to redo the whole thing from scratch.
We’ve also made a couple new site designs. Sunrise was the first scheduled site since our launch, and River City is a new one that we decided to introduce to the world early.
We’ll be in touch soon about future updates!

Great, we are looking to use clover for our church (mainland baptist – Galloway, NJ) this is a great update. We are looking forward to the vid and slide show features
Hey Ben,
I spoken to you through email before. I have few other questions and they pertains to the new Sermon Download feature. How many sermons are able to be put in the player? It appears that you just generate a list that is sorted by date. Are there other sort options/search options? Is there a way to import our past sermons into the player?
Hey Erik, good questions…
There is no limit on the number of sermons that you be displayed in the player. Right now the limit on your storage is 10GB which is enough for about 500 full length sermons (and we may increase this in the near future).
You’re right about the sermons being sorted by date. We’d love to add a feature where you can sort/search by anything, but we don’t have a timeline on that yet.
As far as loading past sermons, it’s not too difficult. If you have several years worth, it will take some time, but it should be something that an intern or volunteer can tackle in a day. (Unfortunately there is no way to import from an existing website because there are thousands of different ways that people have structured things like this on their servers).
If you have any other questions, feel free to call or email!
You should create an “features request” type blog entry or forum.
I like the sorting feature for sermons as well. That’s pretty crucial, to be able to sort them, put them in categories, etc.
Another feature request I have is to make the calender be able to add repeat events. So if we want to add a Saturday prayer meeting every Saturday, we don’t have to actually add the meeting manually for EVERY Saturday. Know what I mean?
Any other features you have in the pipeline?
Thanks!
~ Paul
Is there a way to generate a podcast feed from the sermons that are uploaded? This would be a nice feature and not that complex if it isn’t in place.
Thanks,
Jeremy
Hey Jeremy,
Yep, podcasting is a feature that is currently in development. We will update it to all users’ Greenhouses when we release it.
Thanks!
Thanks Alison for the quick response.
